Community Service

In September the Men’s Basketball team volunteered their time to work with the children at Kingsbury Academy.  Kingsbury is a “second chance academy” for students at-risk.  During their visit, the Patriot basketball team performed a basketball demonstration, participated with the students in 3 on 3 contests and gave motivational speeches to the children.  Jimmie Sutton, a transfer from the University of Florida, especially enjoyed the experience.  “A lot of these kids came from the same kind of background that I came from, so it was a great opportunity to reach out to them.”  Their visit to Kingsbury Academy was the first of several community service projects the men’s basketball team will participate in this year.
