A.S. to B.S. Degree Program in
Nursing
Pre-program code: 1199
CFCC program code: 2137
The Associate Degree Nursing (ADN) program prepares graduates to provide nursing care to individuals and groups with commonly occurring health problems in institutional and community settings. Upon completion of the program, graduates are eligible to apply for licensure including taking NCLEX-RN to become registered nurses. The ADN program is approved by the Florida Board of Nursing and accredited by the National League for Nursing Accreditation Commission, 61 Broadway, NY, NY 10006, (212) 363-5555. This is a limited access program. CFCC's service district is Marion, Citrus and Levy counties. In-district residents will be accepted into the nursing program first before consideration can be given to out-of-district applicants.
Application data are distributed at required information sessions. Click here for the schedule or call CFCC, (352) 873-5817 option 4, for dates and times of information sessions.
The program policies including attendance, grading, progression, clinical behaviors, and readmission guidelines are found in the student handbook that each student obtains once admitted to the ADN program.

The Associate Degree Nursing (ADN) program may be completed through either the full-time or the part-time option. In the full-time option, nursing courses are completed over four semesters. In the full-time option general education courses (those marked with an asterisk) must be completed before beginning Introduction to Nursing (Intro). The student may take the other general education courses with the nursing courses. In the part-time option, the student takes fewer nursing credits per semester, but takes nursing courses over seven semesters. In the part-time option, students take all nursing curriculum general education courses before beginning Introduction to Nursing. Students admitted to the part-time program take Introduction to Pharmacology and Socialization into Nursing I in the fall semester along with any general education courses needed. Part-time students begin Nursing I in the spring semester only. They then take the fewer credit part-time nursing courses each subsequent semester, including summers, for the next five semesters. See the comparison of nursing courses for full- and part-time options.
